Week two long run of 6 miles complete!

There are many things I enjoy about the journey of training for the Boston Marathon, not least of which is representing a meaningful and personally significant cause. But also very high up on that list are the Saturday morning long runs out on the Boston Marathon course.

There is just nothing like the vibe and energy of hundreds of charity runners out there together sharing the road, many who are embarking on their first ever marathon like I did in 2019.

I look forward to this long run all week long - not just for the camaraderie but also because this is dedicated time every week just for me, my running shoes, and the road. Today, I was reminded by this message spray painted on the sign in this photo of the courage it takes embark on something like a marathon, and to battle the darkest moments of depression or for children to heal from trauma - endless courage.  I am so grateful for running that has opened the door for me to be a voice for mental health.

I am also so incredibly grateful for all of the support received since starting this journey. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to helping raise over $6,500 on GivenGain so far for Rebekah's Angels  - with additional funds from recent craft fairs and raffles not yet represented! I am very close to reaching 50% of the $15,000 goal I’ve set for this journey!

Every dollar and every step brings that finish line closer! If you’d like to contribute a donation in any amount I would be so grateful. A link to my donation page is in the comments - thank you!
